Well, I've been right where you are!!
My qualifying journey saw me through two Part 1s, four Part 2s, four Part 3s, I had 4 trainee license's, I had to go round again, went through an appeals process ... Oh and COVID thrown into the mix too!
I didn't have an easy journey qualifying. My training wasn't good, but I didn't know that at the time. I was told misleading information; what to do and what to say that were more in line with the old pre set tests. Something that trainers are still teaching to PDIs within our industry, even though the qualifying tests have changed!
It is only through experiencing quality training, that I now realise my training and preparation for the qualifying tests was poor.
Since qualifying, I've worked really hard to understand the Part 3/Standards Check test more, so that I can help future PDIs and ADIs not have to have such a difficult time qualifying like I did!
I regularly take part in Continuous Professional Development, attending workshops and courses from reputable trainers such as Bob Morton, Diane Hall, Lynne Fitzharris, and the late great Lou Walsh. I also partake in mock standards checks with an ORDIT trainer. Now, I'm not telling you all this to brag (honestly - I'm a geek at heart and I love learning!!), but I'm telling you this to guarantee to you that my knowledge and expertise for this industry is
fresh, up to date, and factually correct!
Sometimes you are your own worst enemy! Overthinking and stressing too much about your part 3 can sabotage it. I can help you with tools and techniques I learnt along the way, to allow you to keep calm and deliver a safe, effective, enjoyable client-centered lesson .
I'm now an independent ADI and I absolutely love my job! I run a successful driving school with a fantastic local reputation, and a waiting list as long as my arm. All of which is completely achievable to anyone and everyone!
My aim is to help PDIs and ADIs understand and simplify the Part 3/Standards Check test, so they can succeed in qualifying as easily as possible and love the job as much as I do!
